M.T manaslu circuit trekking trail is situated in the bordering part of western Nepal. It is spread up to the land connected with the Tibetan plateau in the in the northern high altitude. The Manaslu trekking trails were opened in 1991 by the Nepal government. It is a popular trail to explore the Himalayan views of Manaslu, Ganesh and Annapurna mountain range, astonishing landscape, ethnic lifestyles in the middle hill region, their traditions, rituals, customs and festivals. Due to its diversities, this trekking is regarded as an alternative to the world renowned Annapurna circuit trekking.

Trekking in the Manaslu circuit heads through the Manaslu Conservation Area. It is full of natural and cultural variety. Larke La pass (5160m) is the highest Himalayan pass of this trek. Mt. Manaslu (8163m) is the 8th highest mountain in the world. The central attractions in this area are the Mt. Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Himal chuli, Peak 29, Mahendra Lake and glacier. The Milarepas cave in the west of Sama gaon and Samdo gaon are other attractions of this trekking. The trek follows the historical salt trade route with Tibet along the Budi Gandaki River. The local people on the trail are Newar, Gurung, Magar and other Tibetan origin groups. The varieties in biodiversities are terraced fields, rhododendron and pine forests. The Manaslu region is a shelter of 110 species of birds including Golden Eagle, Himalayan Griffon, Impeyan, Blood, Kalij, Eurasian Griffon and Koklas Pheasants, Himalayan and Tibetan Snow Cocks and the Crimson Horned Pheasant. Rhododendron and Himalayan blue pine are key flora species in this region.

Outline Itinerary:

  • 1Day 1: Drive to Sotikhola (710m): 8 - 9 hrs. After breakfast early in the morning, we drive to Sotikhola. It is a long scenic drive with the beautiful green hill surrounding along the Trishuli River in the beginning and reach Dhading besi. Then we drive to the Soti Khola through the gravel road continually from the Aarughat. O/N at Lodge.
  • 2Day 2: Trek to Maccha Khola (900m): 6 - 7 hrs. After breakfast, we head through the sub-tropical forest of Saal trees and along the Budhi Gandaki River. Then we cross the Khursane heading through the farmlands and reach Labubesi. It is an ethnic settlement of Gurung People. Following the trail along the River, we reach Machha Khola. O/N at Lodge.
  • 3Day 3: Trek to Jagat (1410m): 6 - 7 hrs. After breakfast, we walk through a tough trail and reach Khorlabesi. Then we reach to the village with natural hot spring called Tatopani. Walking along the Budhi Gandaki River, we reach Dovan. We cross the bridge at Bharyang, walk continually and reach the Jagat Village. O/N at Lodge.
  • 4Day 4: Trek to Deng (1804m): 6 - 7 hrs. Today morning, we ascend to the Salleri and climb down to Sirdiwas. Then we gradually walk crossing the bridge in Philim. It is a large ethnic Gurung settlement. Crossing the Ekle Bhatti, the path leads us again to the Budhi Gandaki ridge. We walk continually through the bamboo forest, cross the Deng Khola and reach to the Deng Village. O/N at Lodge.
  • 5Day 5: Trek to Namrung (2630m): 6 - 7 hrs. Today, we walk through the trail following the Budhi Gandaki River and reach the valley. Now, the trip heads through the forests and reaches at Ghap. . The route frequently crosses the Budhi Gandaki River which offers the beautiful views of Sringi Mountain, move through the lush forest. Walking through the narrow gorge, we reach the Namrung village.   • 6Day 6: Trek to Samagaon (3530m): 6-7 hrs. Today, we meet several Buddhist civilizations as Chhortens and Mani walls and continue to Lihi. On the way, we can see superb views of Mt. Ganesh and Himal Chuli. Heading further, we cross Lho, Shyala village and reach the Sama Gaon. On the way we have an opportunity to explore Ribung monastery. Himchuli and Peak 29 are dazzling on the background. We stay today at Samagaon. O/N at Lodge.
  • 7Day 7: Explore Pungyen Monastery: 6-7 hrs. Today, we do acclimatization by hiking to the Pungyen monastery. The way is full of Sherpa culture and civilizations. Chhortens, Mani walls and monasteries are situated around the way. We have astonishing views of Manaslu and the mountain Glaciers. Return to the Samagaon and rest. O/N at Lodge.
  • 8Day 8: Trek to Samdo (3860m): 4 - 5 hrs. After breakfast, we descend to the Budhi Gandaki River and head to the Manaslu Base Camp. The trail has got several mani walls and wide way. The trail includes several mani walls and chhortens. Walking through the birch and juniper forest, we descend to the Kermo Khola, cross the Budhi Gandaki River and ultimately reach the Samdo village.   • 9Day 9: Trek to Dharamsala/Larkya B. C. (4460m): 4 - 5 hrs. After breakfast, we trek to the Dharmasala following the Ridge of Budi Gandaki River. It is an interesting walk with the views of Larkey Glacier. After crossing the Salka Khola, genteelly we reach to the Larke Phedi. It is quite early today. After check in the lodge, we can do a short hike around the village. O/N at Lodge.
  • 10Day 10: Cross Larkya la (5160m) - Bimthang (3720m): 8 - 9 hrs. Today is our thrilling day, which crosses the Larkey La at 5160mtrs. After breakfast in the early morning, we climb up through the north of Glacier. After a challenging ascend, we reach the top of Larkey La. The exciting views of Manaslu, Lamjung, Himlung, Kangru and other snow covered Peaks come closer in front of the eyes. Then we descend to the Bimthang through the pasture land. O/N at Lodge.
  • 11Day 11: Trek to Tilije (2300m): 5 - 6 hrs . After breakfast, we climb down to the Dudh Khola. The trail offers the views of Manaslu, Himlung and Lamjung Himal. Then we walk through the rhododendron forest and reach the fertile land beside the Karche. Gradually, the trail leads to the bank of the River. After crossing the Gho village, we trek further to Tilije. O/N at Lodge.
  • 12Day 12: Trek to Tal (1700m): 5 - 6 hrs. Today, we walk through the stone paved trail and beautiful surrounding. Then we continually walk to the Thonje village after crossing the bridge over Dudh Koshi and crossing several Chhortens and Mani walls. Then we walk further to Dharapani and enter into the main trail of the Annapurna circuit trekking. Following the ridge of the Marshyangdi River, we reach to Tal. O/N at Lodge.
  • 13Day 13: Trek to Syange (1080m): 6 - 7 hrs. Today, we cross the Marshyangdi Khola and follow the trail of Chyamje. It is a splendid walk heads through the rice fields and rugged trail. It follows the rhododendron and pine forests and gradually reaches to the Syange, O/N at Lodge.
  • 14Day 14: Drive to Kathmandu or Pokhara City: 8-9 hrs. Following the ridge of Marshyangdi and the Trishuli River, today we drive to Kathmandu. On the way we have beautiful views of lush forests, gorges, River bank settlement and green hill views. After a long drive we arrive in Kathmandu. Check- in hotel and rest. O/N at Hotel. (We have next option to drive to Pokhara. It is a beautiful city of Lakes, lie on the bosom of Mt. Fishtail. After 2 days trip we can move to Kathmandu)

This trek we provide local transportations bus and sharing jeep(But it can be customized according to your requirement about private vehicles by jeep).

Food/ Water and Accommodation on Manaslu Circuit Trek

During the trekking, provide breakfast and dinner at the lodge and lunch on the trekking trail. We recommend you to bring water purification pills, but you have no options of buying bottled water or boiled water as well as best available lodge in the trekking. Lodges with basic facilities are available in Manaslu Circuit Trek.

Luggage on Manaslu Circuit Trek

During the trekking, your bag pack will be carried by the porter and you can use your belongings at your desired time. You can just carry a day pack with water bottle, camera, sun-screen, spare jacket, etc. Except the necessary things, you can deposit your belongings to the hotels locker.

Communication, Electricity and Battery Charge on Manaslu circuit Trek

Despite some areas, there is network coverage of mobile phone in almost the places. The landline phones are also available for the communication. Electricity or solar powers are available for the mobile charge. It is better to have a spare battery.

Health Issues

It is better to consult with your doctor before going to the Manaslu Circuit Trekking. Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS)/ High Altitude Sickness can occur during the trekking so proper acclimatization is needed. Please, take your required medicine with you.

Insurance/Rescue

Insurance help you to get a quick rescue and the medical expenses. It is an expensive operation from the higher altitude in helicopter. It cuts your economic burden if some accidents happen. Insurance should be done by you.

Best Trekking season for the Manaslu Circuit

Autumn and spring are the best seasons for Everest Base Camp Trekking. Days are warm and nights are chilling. Mornings are usually clear and fine weather. It can be cloudy around the afternoon and evening. The winter season is more challenging due to the heavy snow fall.

Booking and Payment procedure

15% payment should be paid in advance while you book the trip. It should include Passport copy and flight detail. The rest of 85% payment is payable at your arrival in Nepal. You can pay by your credit card and deposit into the bank account of Good Vibe Adventure from your country and can pay cash after your arrival.

Trip Extension
