The Bhote Koshi River is 70 km East of Kathmandu, Three hours scenic drive to canyons, rafting options and the gateway to Tibet. The rivers path is a maze of exciting, steep gorges. The rural valleys, relaxing waters, and sandy beaches are an ideal way to rejuvenate after a trek.
Usually a two days experience this rafting circuit is flexible and can be modified. We raft the milder and lower section on the first day. Each journey is an exciting adventure through remote territory. The rapids at the lower reach grade 4. The grade 5 upper rapids are recommended for experienced people. Although the usual season goes from January to May and from September to December, the rafting can be done at any season, monsoon providing an extra challenge.
The wet and wild action is followed by relaxation on serene beaches for meal breaks and overnight camping under the stars.Easily accessed from Kathmandu, the upper section begins near Baseri and ends at a river dam near Lamosangu.
