The Dhaulagiri Circuit is an exciting and challenging trek around Dhaulagiri 8,167 m (26,795 ft), worlds 7th highest peak in a range of 7000m subsidiary peaks. Full of adventures, this journey get you off the beaten path. The route travels the remote area filled with stark beauty seen by the only few others and surmounts high passes along the way, including the demanding French Pass 5360m, the high point of the trek.
Highlights along the way include not only the marvelous, non-stop mountain views, and dramatic Himalayan landscape with forests and glaciers. But the beautiful culture of its inhabitants, waterfalls and Rivers, including the Kaligandaki gorge- the deepest gorge in the world. A stretch of the Dhaulagiri circuit follows the world famous Annapurna circuit and hot springs along the way provide a relaxing place to enjoy a break.
We start the journey with scenic drive from Pokhara, a famously beautiful lakeside city with Mountain views. We reach the town Beni at the junction of two Himalayan rivers .we will climb from there up to the idyllic village of Dharapani surrounded by fields with great views of the mountains. The trail visits more majestic villagers as we ascend to Italian base camp on the west of the side Dhaulagiri. The next stopover is glacier camp and then Dhaulagiri Base camp both in astonishing unforgettable settings. Then we cross the French pass to enter the hidden valley and perhaps this will be our chance to see rare wildlife of the Himalaya. The pristine valley is a true gateway from the rest of the world and you might be overwhelmed by the surrounding serenity! Then we cross the Thapa pass to yak Kharka and then join the Himalaya Circuit at the charming village of the Marpha and then a fly back to pokhara from the Jomsom airport or still we have an option to have a scenic drive all the way to Pokhara.
The Dhaulagiri Circuit trekking in the recent days is developed as a lodge trekking, but still needs to do camping in some of the high altitude areas. The trek to Dhaulagiri Circuit is facilitated by hygiene foods and neat lodge accommodation. Although some of the passes with ascend and descend are pretty challenging, the whole trip offers an exciting and memorable experiences in Nepal trekking holidays.
