Around Kathmandu Valley Mountain Bike Tour  |  7 Days

Nepal is a land of contrasts and famous as the home of the highest peak on the planet, Mt. Everest. It is also beloved as the birth place of Buddha (Lumbini). This enchanting country is located between the two giants of India and China. The Himalaya make up the border to the north and Nepal is home to eight of the worlds ten highest peaks.

The Kathmandu valley offers some of Nepals best mountain biking. More interesting the valley is also the historic center of Nepal, the place where palaces and temples were built and rebuilt and Nepalese art and culture were developed and refined. A combination of superb dirt trails and single track connect the profusion of temples, monasteries and palaces making this both an exciting and fascinating place to mountain biking.

Outline Itinerary:

  • 1Day 1: Arrival at Kathmandu. (1350m)Namaste and Welcome to Kathmandu. Our airport representative greets you at the international airport on your arrival. Then you will be transferred at the hotel. After check-in at the hotel, refresh and rest yourselves. We will briefly explain our tour program in the evening. O/N at Hotel. (D, A)
  • 2Day 2: Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing.After breakfast, we set out for guided sightseeing tour in Kathmandu. Pashupatinath temple is the pilgrimage destination of Hindu devotees, lies on the bank of Bagmati River. It is a temple of Lord Shiva. Shiva Linga and It has got a place for cremation, where the dead bodies are burnt down. A great fair held here in Mahashivaratri. Boudhanath Stupa is a Buddhist pilgrimage site and the great Stupa in the Asia, built in the 17th century. It is surrounded by the resident of Tibetan Buddhist communities. You can feel the real sense of Buddhism around here. Swoyambhunath Stupa is also known as the Monkey temple, lies on the top of the hill. The golden temple on the hill top is followed by 365 steps which is significant in Buddhism. It is a good viewpoint of the Kathmandu valley and visitors can have the spectacular sunset views from here. Then we drive back to the hotel and prepare our upcoming Everest Base Camp Trek.   • 3Day 3: Kathmandu - Kakani (14 miles /22km).Early morning after breakfast we will start our tour from the hotel. through Nagarjun forest (the queen’s forest) which is way up the drive to Trishuli Bazaar via Langtang Trek and 22km north of Kathmandu. Your hard work is satisfied by spectacular mountain views. We go to visit the Ranipauwa for good mountain views and visit the typical Tamang village and back Upwards for the seriously fit ride up to Kakani. We camp in a reserve at 2,000m to enjoy the stunning views of Ganesh Himal and Langtang, Lirung and the valley view of Likhu Khola 1,000m below. O/N at Lodge. (B, L, D. A)
  • 4Day 4: Kakani - Nagi Gompa (18 miles /28 km).In the morning we head off along one of the best single tracks in the valley down towards Budhanilkantha, this is holy site for Hindus where Lord Vishnu is sleeping on the bed of snakes. After following the valley rim we then move forward our way on single-track uphill through the thick forest of Shivapuri Reserve towards Nagi Gompa, a Buddhist nun’s monastery. We are going camp close to the monastery premises spend enough time to absorbing the Tibetan culture here and observe the evening Puja. O/N at Lodge. (B, L, D. A)
  • 5Day 5: Nagi Gompa to Nagarkot (22miles /35 Km).Continue through our mountain bike tour, today, you have a challenging day! We pedal through the dense jungle of Shivapuri National Park and the route to the Helambu trekking trail. We ride down into the northeast corner of the valley, and then we head on to a mix of single of jeep track to wind our way to Nagarkot. O/N at Hotel. (B, L, D. A) However, our route will depend on the condition of the trails. A short steep climb up to Nagarkot will be rewarded by the comfort and peaceful surrounding of the hotel where we spent our night. This is where part of the biking movie 'Retread' was filmed.
  • 6Day 6: Nagarkot - Kathmandu 40 kmThis morning after sunrise to see the colorful mountains and coming down though via Bhaktapur durbar square back to Kathmandu. O/N at Hotel. (B, L, D. A)
  • 7Day 7: Transfer to International Airport.Today, it’s your final day of the trip in Nepal. On your airport time, our company representative bid farewell and wish for safe journey. See you again. (B) A= accommodation B= breakfast L= lunch D= dinner
