Annapurna Circuit Trek 10 Days Detailed Itinerary:

Day 01: Drive from Kathmandu to Besisahar

As it was meant to be, our officials will get to the airport just minutes before your flight lands. Not to have things formal, they will give you our warm greeting and instantly drive to the hotel.

In the center of having an exhausting flight, it’s best that you relax for a time being. It is even better if you grab something to eat while in the hotel as it saves us time.

In-between relaxing and having breakfast, you check all the stuff necessary during a trek to Annapurna Circuit. Meanwhile, we’ll look out the arrangements and inform you when it’s in order.

You won’t need to get anywhere to catch the ride as we’ll pick you up from the hotel. It’s then 7 hours of ride on the jeep before you reach all the way to Besisahar.

While in Kathmandu, you may have noticed busier streets with immense crowds. But as you start heading to Besisahar along the way through Trishuli, all you can see is dense forest.

From the uphill, you can spot beautiful Marshyangdi Valley as well as the exotic scenery. Throughout the drive, you’ll come across many villages and spot mesmeric riverscape and woodland.

You’ll keep sighting the geography and natural streams even upon reaching Besisahar. Stay the night at a lodge in the region and continue the journey the later day.

Day 02: Drive from Besisahar to Chame

Besisahar might be the starting point for Annapurna circuit trek but it’s Chame that leads the trekker. Hence, you’d want to hike to Chame as soon as possible after having a restful night at Besisahar.

You can proceed with the route shortly after having breakfast in the lodge. Under four and a half hours by shuttle jeep, you’ll bring about your trip to Chame.

Right from the time you get into the jeep, you’ll be ensuing Marshyangdi Valley that crosses the rice field. The unpaved lane also passes many remote villages and majestic mountains next to a green forest before reaching Chame.

Surrounded by high hills and forests with majestic scenery, Chame will draw your attention. Thus, you can search out the region and even try to communicate with locals there. Give yourself a break and spend the night in the village.

Day 03:Trek from Chame to Pisang

Day 3 of Annapurna Circuit Trek 10 days begins with you waking to the beautiful morning in Chame. To fill your heart with wonder, the keeper of the lodge will provide you with a local breakfast.

So many things to be excited for in the day as your trek to Annapurna Circuit also starts officially from here. Since Pisang is only 14.5 km away from Chame, you’ll take a slow start and head towards Bhartang.

Along the way, you’ll be amazed to catch the astonishing view of the snow peaks and rushing rivers.

Trails surrounded by pine forest with blooming flowers makes the whole trip arousing. Leaving the exotic Bhartang behind, you’ll continue following the trail up to Dhukur Pokhari.

On the way, you can see the incredible Swarga Dwari resting at the hilltop far away. Plunging the narrow pathway and crossing several suspension bridges, you’ll finally come to meet Dhukur Pokhari.

From here, you’ll scramble a rocky trail that goes deep through the hills after leaving the highway. The trekking gets slightly easier after you run across a green pasture and till the time ascending the hillside.

After trekking for a total of 5-6 hours, you’ll arrive at Lower Pisang. The trek doesn’t end here as you climb higher up to Upper Pisang and finally call it for the day. The village has an ample splendid view to offer you including the sight of historic monasteries and Annapurna.

Day 04: Trek from Pisang to Manang

Trekking to Manang is pretty challenging mostly when you have to travel from Pisang. The trail will steer you through the driest part of the Manang which you perhaps won’t be liking.

Yet the best thing is that the runway to Manang is all flat and you can easily trace it. You can trek to Manang from either of two trails as one walk above the valley and another through it.

Wandering along the trail, you’ll pass many eccentric villages including Tibetan-styled Bragha. Set off in a stunning location with a traditional Himalayan-style lodge and museum, Bragha is marvelous. For your delight, you can even view Annapurna III and Chulu peak from here.

Since Bragha has the most lodges than any other place in Manang, it’s best you stay the night here.

Day 05: Acclimatization in Manang and Explore around the village

Remote and exotic, Manang is surely blessed with the loveliest and most fabulous scenic views. With Manang offering so much, it would only be unfair not to explore the village and onlook sublime mountains.

Manang is also kind of a place where you can disregard the world and enjoy yourself. You have a mesmerizing view to enjoy from the village and over the valley.

The place comes with plenty of hiking options with Gangapurna Lake just 15 minutes away from Manang. The trail to this gleaming lake takes you to lush-green meadow fed by yaks and cows.

For a side option, you can even go on a hike to Ice Lake starting from Manang. While the lake itself may not delight you, the walkway indeed will; having passed green hills and landscapes.

If you want to seek through the culture and tradition of the region then better interact with locals. You can also visit gompas and monasteries here which are nothing short of spectacular.

Day 06: Trek from Manang to Ledar

After one electrifying day at Manang, it’s time to head to Ledar now. So, racking up all the stuff and having morning breakfast, you continue walking the trail.

Not long after you start scrambling the route, it will climb uphill going up to 2000m and ends at Thorong La Pass(5416m). It takes about 4-5 hours to arrive at the highest point of the Annapurna Circuit.

The trek, of course, will once again have you exhausted, causing annoyance. But it’s the scenery that will grasp your eyes, making it impossible not to focus on.

Besides, the trail, as usual, have you walk a steep stairway and climb uphill after every minute. On the footway ahead, you have a dry terrain to walk through before getting sight of the Annapurna range.

The trek will then lead you to Gunsang settlement and the river itself. You’ll be crossing the Gunsang river through a wooden cantilever bridge. Next, you’ll scramble the Jarsang Khola Valley to arrive at Ledar. Stay the night at one of the tea houses in Ledar and pursue the trek to Annapurna circuit tomorrow.

Day 07: Trek from Ledar to Highcamp

The 7th day of 10 Days Annapurna Circuit Trek starts with a breakfast at a teahouse in Ledar. Sometimes thereafter you’ll start walking the trail that turns right in the beginning.

Nevertheless, you’ll be walking the left side along the route soon as it gets across the suspension bridge. After walking through a grassy field and rough trails for a while, you’ll reach Thorung Phedi.

Still, it will take you almost an hour of trekking from Thorung Phedi to make it to the camp. On top of the camp, you’ll witness numerous snow-capped mountains, one being Thorung Peak.

Day 08: Trek from Highcamp to Muktinath via Thorong-la

Annapurna’s high camp has everyone pleased with its geographical spread and dynamic topography. So, it must have delighted you as well with its countryside beauty and remoteness.

The place is full of surprises with a jaw-dropping view of mountains to watch. Hence you’ll spend quality time here before resuming trek to Muktinath.

You’ll make an early move from the High Camp and cross Thorong-La pass. As soon as you roll by the pass, the trail will see you descending the stony hill.

To the west of the pass, there is a Dhaulagiri Massif which you’ll be thrilled to see. Walking down to the lowest point of the Pass, you’ll reach a village named Chirabu.

As you travel further, Muktinath will be right ahead of you. Upon reaching there, you’ll find a huge influence of Sherpa culture in and around the region.

You can either explore the village in Muktinath or sightsee the snow peaks like Muktinath Himal and Dhaulagiri. Rest the night in Muktinath so that we can visit the temple tomorrow.

Day 09: Trek from Muktinath to Jomsom

Wake up early in the morning today so that you can drop by the magnificent Muktinath Temple. Sacred to Buddhists and Hindus, Muktinath lies at the base of Thorong La mountain pass and offers a dazzling view.

Shortly after the tour is over, you’ll descend the hill till reach Kagbeni. The trail that has you walk downhill offers a magnetic setting with a picturesque view of tropical landscape.

The pre-medieval village-like Kagbeni and Jharkot will stun you with its beauty and art. Passing the narrow alley of Kagbeni followed by the windy valley of Manang, you’ll reach Jomsom.

Since you’ve been walking the trail for nearly 6 hours, it’s high time you take a rest. Hence, You’ll stay the night in Jomsom and return to Pokhara the next day.

Day 10 Jomsom to Pokhara

Your 10 Days Annapurna Circuit Trek is just hours away to come to an end. With this, you must be yearning to get the most from the last day of the trip.

Starting from the morning, you can explore the villages in Jomsom. If you want to get insight into the culture and build fellowship with the locals then better interact.

Since the clock has nearly ticked the time, you ought to pack your bags to head back to Pokhara. As scheduled, you’ll catch your flight to Pokhara from Jomsom Airport. Enjoy the breathtaking view of the Jomsom valley and landscapes from the flight.
